The Lurker and Rogue occupy similar conceptual space in the “shadowy assassin” line of classes, but operate under much different principles. The Rogue is an opportunist, using its allies to help it gain Sneak Attack and biding time in combat with Shadow Walk. The Lurker has no need of opportunism. It sets up its own vulnerabilities with Death’s Mark and Nightmare Venom and moves around the battlefield in the blink of an eye with Crawstep. Where the Rogue succeeds by its own wits and cunning, the Lurker has magic of questionable sources that fuel its abilities. If the Rogue is a hired hitman patiently tracking its target waiting for the perfect moment to strike, the Lurker is a S.E.A.L. team member. You had no time to even register its existence before it dropped from the ceiling, took you out and was gone again.
